Kindness Overflown

Thomas Moore, a 10-year-old boy in Maryland, US, has become the talk of the town for donating his hair to make wigs for the cancer patients. One fine afternoon, Thomas watched a video with his mother about a 5-year-old girl losing hair due to the chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

Ever since this act of kindness has gone viral, he had received applauds and appreciation online. Amber Lynne, Thomas’ aunt, "He didn’t set a time frame for how long he would grow his hair for, he just wanted it to be long enough to make the girl feel happy. It started off just fine when his hair was shorter,” she said. "But as the afro grew, they had to cornrow it to keep it nice and tame."

Mrsd. Lynne, his mother added, “Two years on, Thomas has finally had his hair cut, providing enough hair to make three wigs for children with cancer. He was feeling nervous about getting the cut, wondering what he would look like. Thomas said he felt good about it and hoped it would make other people happy." Expressing her pride on Facebook, she quoted, "Myyyy baby! I'm so proud of him!" she wrote. "He's breathing all hard and smiling so BIG right now!!!"

Also, the retired NBA player Derek Anderson’s foundation bestowed Thomas an Acts of Kindness Award. However, the young little girl in the video, Kyssi Andrews had passed away, but her mother praised Thomas for his ‘considerate and selfless act’. She said, "To know that my sweet angel Kyssi is still an inspiration, even in her absence from the earth makes me one proud mom."
