Accepting donations in the form of Medical Equipment: Chintpurni Temple, Himachal Pradesh

Looking at the severe repercussions of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic which has hit harder than before, it is pretty evident the desolation it has caused to most people. With the medical infrastructure being insufficient to take care of the ever-increasing cases it has indeed taken a toll over the country and its people.

Nevertheless, there are also a lot of initiatives and efforts taken by various institutions, trusts, and people, the Chintpurni temple is one of such helping hands. Home to the Maa Chintpurni Temple, which is a major pilgrimage site, Chintpurni is a small town in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh. The temple has set up an online portal allowing and seeking help from people to provide any medical equipment they can for the affected lot of Covid-19. This is a means for devotees who wish to donate can do so through providing medical equipment through the link enabled by the trust.

The process is as such that devotees can register themselves following which a trust official will get in touch with them or they could simply visit the Chintpurni temple themselves and donate the equipment. The trust has made sure to detail the list of equipment that can be donated which includes oximeters, PPE kits, masks, oxygen cylinders or concentrators, and medicines. The important thing to note is that they will not be accepting any donations in the form of cash and only in kind, i.e., the medical equipment as mentioned.

It was only last year that the temple donated a sum of Rs. 5 crores towards the relief fund for Covid. With many other temples turning into Covid centers, donating equipment, and contributing to even building medical infrastructure, this noble initiative taken by the Chintpurni temple is one of many.

Pawan Dham, in Mumbai, a religious Jain temple trust, Puttur temple in Kannada, having set themselves up as Covid centers just last month are among other temples that have come forward to help fight the pandemic.
